Gärsnäs AB is a distinguished brand that has been producing furniture since 1893 at its family-owned factory in Österlen, Sweden. Since 2003, the company has been led by Anna and Dag Klockby together with Anna’s father, Åke Axelsson. With over 60 years of experience, Åke Axelsson, along with a new generation of designers at Gärsnäs, contributes to the brand’s distinctive aesthetic by blending the Scandinavian design tradition with a contemporary approach. The first chair designed by Axelsson in 1963, the S-217, is still in production today. The company is also known for its environmentally friendly production methods and commitment to sustainability standards. Since 2019, Gärsnäs has welcomed guests at the “Guardhouse” building in Stockholm, designed by Dive Architects.
